Under the budget, municipal taxes will increase by 3 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. That equates to an increase of about $90 year on a home with an assessed valuation of $300,”000.

Overall, the budget represents a spending hike of almost 4 percent over last year’s $27.9 million spending plan. The budget also includes a surplus of some 5 percent.

Officials have attributed the increase to salaries and wages, insurance, costs related to the current township-wide property revaluation, and pension costs for police and other township employees.
