A team of WW-P students placed third both nationally and internationally in the American Regions Mathematics League. The contest is written for high school students, though some junior high students attend each year. The competition consists of a team round, a power question, an individual round, two relay rounds, and a super relay. More than 120 teams of 15 students participated.

The 15-member A team included High School North juniors, Aaron Berger, Ernest Chiu, and Ben Edelman; and sophomores Brice Huang and Christopher Shao. High School South members include sophomores David Geng, Charlie Gu, Bill Yan Huang, Kevin Q Li, Jason Shi, and Aleck Zhao; Chaitanya Asawa, a junior; and Alexander Clifton, a senior. Also, Tyler Shen and Christopher Xue, both eighth grade students at Community Middle School. Individually, Brice Huang placed eighth and Aaron Berger made tiebreakers (top 37).

A second team from WW-P competed in the B division and placed 10th. The B team included eighth grade students from Grover Middle School, Tanishq Aggarwal, Eric Liu, Srivatsan Srinivasan, and Sharon Zhang; Community Middle School students, Alexander Xue, grade eight, and seventh grade students, Kevin L Li and Jeffrey Yu. High School South freshmen on the team included Bharath Jaladi, William Jiao, Migank Saksena, Jung Joo Suh, and Lewis Wang; along with sophomorees Daksh Bhatia and Ishan Mazumdar; and Apoorva Shah, a senior.

The 30-student group from WW-P was rare, as most teams are recruited from an entire state or country.
