The Class of 1988 at WW-P can boast two established movie actors among its ranks. Ethan Hawke is the more recognizable name (he finished his high scshool career at Hun). But another student actor at WW-P, who moved with his family to California before he graduated, is also on the big screen: Brandon Boyce plays the political advisor in the movie, “Milk,” based on the life of the openly gay San Francisco supervisor, Harvey Milk.##M:[more]##

Boyce’s WW-P connection comes to light via Jack Silbert, a WW-P 1987 graduate who recognized Boyce in the movie. Although Silbert, now living in Hoboken and working for Scholastic, has not been in contact with Boyce for years, he does have vivid memories of him. As he reports on his blog (www.saltinwound.com):

“A quarter century ago, I costarred in a play with Brandon Boyce. And this time I really mean ‘costar.’ Really. It was the West Windsor-Plainsboro High School 7th and 8th grade production of Meet Me In St. Louis!, performed on January 21 and 22, 1983. In this non-musical version, Brandon portrayed Mr. Duffy, while I trod the boards in the role of Fred Gregory.

“Brandon was a sweet, funny kid, and all these years later, it was fun to see him on the big screen.” Also posted on the blog (and reprinted on page 1 of this issue): a photo of the WW-P production of “Meet Me in St. Louis” that includes Silbert, Boyce, and Hawke.
