The WW-P Education Foundation will host a WW-P Alumni Panel, on Saturday, April 14.
The event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the High School North auditorium, is open to all high schools students and parents.
The alumni panel features graduates of the school district who will discuss how going to school in WW-P helped them prepare for college and their career, the resources they used and how they picked their majors/career paths in college.
Graduates from Cornell University, Columbia University, Rutgers University, the University of Delaware and the University of Pennsylvania will be on the panel.
The panel will have pre-arranged questions, with the opportunity for audience members to ask questions at the end of the session and network with the graduates.
The following is the planned schedule for the event: 11 to 11:10 a.m.—WW-P Education Foundation overview and introductions; 11:10 to 11:30 a.m.— Panel questions; 11:30 to 11:50 a.m.— Questions from the audience; and 11:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.—Networking.
The Alumni Panel is first of two events that the Education Foundation will be holding over the next two months.
On Saturday, May 19, the WW-PEF will hold its second annual Innovation Fair at High School North.
Students from grades K to 12 are participants in the fair, which features innovative projects and presentations from the STEAM fields. The event is being planned by the foundation’s youth committee members and community volunteers.
This year’s fair will have a robotics showcase, maker station, the Great Ball Contraption, innovative exhibits, an art show, talent show for music and dance, and many hands on activities.
The event also includes interactive activities from the Star Lab Planetarium and Liberty Science Center, in addition to exhibits by NASA, FAA, Princeton Chapter of the American Chemical Society, STEM Authors and the Central New Jersey Area Rocketry Society.
All proceeds from the fair go to the WW-PEF. The foundation’s goal as a non-profitofit is to promote and fund innovative educational programs in the district.
Examples of previous grants awarded include a Starlab mobile planetarium, homes for barn owls, ukuleles in third grad eGrade 3 classrooms, and a principles of engineering course. For more information, email marketing@wwpeducationfoundation.org.
