Due to Labor Day this Monday, the West Windsor Town Council will meet on Tuesday, September 4, at 7 p.m. The priority topic of discussion on Council’s agenda is the DOT’s Route 1 pilot project closing left turns and jughandles and its negative impacts on the Penns Neck area of the township.

Residents have raised concerns over the past several weeks. David Parris of Washington Road wrote a letter to the editor in the WW-P News’ August 24 edition. At the August 20 Council meeting, Guy Pierson engaged Business Administrator Marlena Schmid in a dialogue about the U-turns on private driveways made by drivers trying to avoid backed-up traffic. Mayor Hsueh said he has continued to contact residents and the township has attempted to let state agencies know about the problems the project has caused.

The September 4 meeting will be preceded at 6:30 p.m. when Council will hold a closed session to discuss potential litigation.
