The West Windsor Council approved its 2008 municipal audit and the corrective action report prepared in conjunction with the annual audit on November 9.

According to Chief Financial Officer Joanne Louth, the action report corrects two deficiencies. The first was that there were not always invoices provided for expenditures from the Public Assistance Fund. “We’re not going to write any more checks until they get invoices from the individuals who are receiving the checks,” said Louth.

The second issue relates to new legal requirements implemented in 2008 regarding post-retirement benefits, which the township did not complete. Louth said the township obtained consulting services to provide aid in meeting the requirements, but time ran out.
