Jeff Grabell’s Third Grade Class at Dutch Neck Elementary School raised $359 to benefit UNICEF. While the community service project is admirable, this project had an academic twist — the students studied math, statistics, probability, and marketing to raise the funds. They prepared a special dessert, which they made, marketed, and sold to classmates during lunch.

Participants include Ben Edelman, Melissa Wherry, Tessa Berger, Morven Chin, Jacki Naidrich, and Pearl Kravets.

First Place

Jenny Lumeng Yu, an eighth grade student at Grover Middle School, received first place award in the National History Day Competition. Grover students participated under the leadership of teacher Joan Ruddimann.
