A senior at High School North, Gans serves as president of the Gay-Straight Alliance and Amnesty International, and works actively with Students for Peace. Three years ago she became involved with the March of Dimes and has raised money annually to benefit healthcare for children born prematurely. She also leads an improvisational acting group that does volunteer work in the county, helping to educate students on a variety of topics from bullying to job interview etiquette.

The proclamation issued by Brian Hughes, Mercer County executive, states that “Stephanie Gans serves as an inspirational role model for all young women in Mercer County.”
