Sinfonietta Nova presents a showcase featuring Concerto Competition winners at Prince of Peace Church on Saturday, January 30, at 7:30 p.m. Works of Bartok, Elgar, Bruch, and others will be performed by Brendan Zak and Coco Mi on violin, and Robin Park on violoncello.

Park, a freshman at High School North, has studied cello for nine years. He has won the Kennett Symphony Junior Competition, Bravura Philharmonic Young Artists Competition, and Sinfonietta Nova Youth Concerto Competition. He has had a master class with Steven Doane and Yumi Kendall. Park performs Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E Minor.

His ensemble experiences include the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey Symphonic Orchestra, Trowbridge Ensemble in Settlement Music School, and the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra. He served as the principal cellist for CJMEA Region II Intermediate orchestra in 2014 and 2015 and All-state New Jersey Intermediate Orchestra in 2015. He participated in the 2015 BUTI Summer String Quartet Workshop in Tanglewood, Massachusetts. Park also plays the saxophone and is an avid Kendo player, receiving several prizes at US Kendo championships.
