What Is Gentle Healing?

People often wonder “What is the true definition of success?” We all have different perspectives, but I would like to share with you how I define success. Before I get to my definition, I need to tell you how I came up with the name “Gentle Healing.” Although my business really took off in 2001, after the purchase of the beautiful 1853 Victorian Farmhouse located at 1274 South River Road in Cranbury, NJ, the concept really started in 1991. At that time, I had decided to create a Wellness Center. I didn’t originally picture a Spa or a School, but I did want to create a place where people would learn to look within themselves. The name came to me one day while I was talking to a friend. I wondered, “Why do our lessons on this journey of life have to be so hard? Why can’t they be more … gentle? The healing process sometimes feels like such a hard road.” When I refer to healing, I am referring to the learning process we all experience through relationships, work, raising children, building our self esteem, etc. Basically, I am referring to discovering who we are. It was at that moment, that I realized that I should name my business Gentle Healing.

As a woman, I feel we constantly have to prioritize what is important to us. Often, on our own daily journeys, it can be difficult to find those “gentle” words to say to ourselves and to love ourselves enough to go thru another day, not only surviving but “succeeding.” My definition of success is anytime we wake up and can start each day from a place of gratitude.

Today, ten years after Gentle Healing opened it doors in our Cranbury location, I look back at the trials and tribulations that lead me to this moment. I look at the choices that I made which eventually created the Gentle Healing that exists today. I find success in the gratitude of knowing that people enjoyed their experience at Gentle Healing Wellness Spa and students at Gentle Healing School of Massage walk away knowing that they are truly on a path that will forever change them.

Please share a part of your journey with us on OCTOBER 22, 2011 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm as we celebrate and give back to our community with gratitude.
