The eleventh annual West Windsor BikeFest, also known as the “whirr of the wheels” among fellow cyclists, takes place on Saturday, September 6, at West Windsor Community Park. The rides, ranging from 1.5 to 40 miles, all begin and end at the park. The longer rides start earlier than the shorter rides with most participants returning back to the park between 11:30 a.m. and noon.

A bike safety rodeo education program will also be held. The bike rodeo is geared towards young children and novices and will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Instructors will provide training to kids as young as three. The lessons will include safety training related to bike riding including road crossing, watching out for vehicles and defensive driving.

A bike tech specialist from Halter’s Bike Shop will be on site to provide free minor adjustments. Route markings, cue sheets, food and water stops, lunch, and a post-ride party are all included with registration. NEW this year, the post-ride party will be held at West Windsor Water Works Family Aquatic Center. Be sure to bring your bathing suit and towel for a refreshing dip in the pool after your ride.

Pre-registration ends on Friday, August 22. If you register on or before August 22 you will not only get an event t-shirt, you will also receive the discounted event fee of $15 for participants ages 13 and up and $5 for participants under the age of 13. Event t-shirts cannot be guaranteed after August 22.
