Saying that residents, especially commuters, might not be able to make it to the debates already scheduled by various community groups for West Windsor candidates, mayoral candidate Peter Weale is calling for another debate to be held on Thursday, May 7, at 8 p.m. at the High School South Auditorium.##M:[more]##

“The three scheduled debates are not ‘resident friendly’ and do not permit the average resident to fully participate in the process of simultaneously assessing the candidates in person,” Weale says. “The existing debates’ scheduled times are such that residents who work ‘normal’ business hours are precluded from attending. One debate is scheduled for 7 p.m. for Village Grande residents only.’

Currently, there are debates scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, at the Canal-Colonnade Homeowners’ Associations at the Palmer Inn Garden Room on Route 1 South; Monday, April 27 at the municipal complex at 10 a.m. (see story above); and at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at the Village Grande Civic Association at the development’s clubhouse.

Weale suggests the debate should start at 8 p.m. to permit commuters and working folks to arrive home, greet their families, and spend an hour assessing all three candidates in person.
