At its Wednesday, September 12, meeting, Plainsboro Township introduced an ordinance revising its salary and wage plan for communications officers and their representative union, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters local 701 dispatch unit. The revisions would be in place for 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Minimum salaries for full-time public safety communications officers (dispatchers) will be $37,440 per year. The maximum salary would be $55,851 for 2011, $56,974 for 2012, and $58,119 for 2013.

For part-time, per diem public safety communications officers, the salary for each of the three years would remain flat at $18 per hour.

A public hearing on the ordinance will be held at the township committee’s next meeting on Monday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building.
