VOICES Chorale is set to present the third of four programs in their 25th anniversary season May 18.
Time Passing, Time Standing Still: Musical Perceptions of Time is scheduled for 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
VOICES Choarle is set to premiere three new pieces by Kenneth K. Guilmartin, Sheena Phillips, and Robert McMahon, which were commissioned in honor of the groups silver anniversary.
The program also features pieces by Bach, Rachmaninoff and Mozart.
A cellist, two percussionists, accordion player and organist are set to accompany the singers. A prelude to the concert is scheduled to being 7:45 p.m. and includes organ works by Edgar Elgar performed by award-winning organist Camilla Jarnot.
VOICES founder and music director said the theme of the concert is time.
“The program includes lighter music as well as classics, all chosen because they are about time or they seem to bend time,” said in a statement.
Members of the Princeton Homeschool Choir are set to join the Chorale. The young singers range in age from eleven through eighteen and, like Chorale members, live in central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
The 75 concert is set to be presented without an intermission and is open to concertgoers of all ages.
General admission tickets are $25 and a family pass is for $55. Tickets for children or students with ID are $10. They can be purchased in advance online
VOICES Chorale is an auditioned chorus with more than 60 members from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
