Two Stuart Country Day students from West Windsor are headed to the state robotics championship. Aana Bansal, above right, a sophomore, and Elisa Vera, center, a junior, are members of the school’s rookie robotics team, Sparks. They placed third out of 35 teams at the FIRST Tech Competition to earn a spot at the state championship in February.

Stuart has assembled a task force to help close the so-called girl gap in the STEM disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math. Role models include Representative Rush Holt, a physicist, and Naomi Leonard, an engineering professor at Princeton University.
