Two High School North freshmen girls are facing criminal charges in connection with a bomb threat and subsequent evacuation of Community Middle School on Friday, October 27.

An eighth grade student discovered a message written in marker on two walls of a bathroom in the middle school that said a bomb would be detonated at noon in the bathroom. The threat was accompanied by a ‘hit list’ of teachers, students, and an academic team. The threat referenced Osama Bin Laden and included a swastika.

The student who discovered the threat informed teachers, and the school called the Plainsboro Police. Principal Arthur Downs then decided to evacuate students across the street to High School North, where the middle school students were kept in the auditorium and theater until noon.

“At this time, the two students have been suspended and, pending the results of the investigation, could face expulsion. It is important for you, and your children, to know that we take such threats very seriously,” said Downs.

Bomb detection dogs from the State Police also responded and searched the school for explosives. Plainsboro Police Detectives George Cier and Eamon Blanchard are investigating the incident.
