A highlight of the event was a video history of Troop 40 presented by Assistant Scoutmaster Scott Monsees. Stories were told at dinner and skits were presented around a campfire. Several of the families stayed at the campsite overnight.

The troop, chartered by the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church, has always had community service as an important goal of the troop. It is estimated that the troop has provided more than 40,”000 hours in community service since its inception. Members have always been active in all-season camping.

“The anniversary dinner gave the current troop a chance to meet the wonderful people who kept Troop 40 running successfully over the last 40 years,” said Savage. “These alumni attendees really added to the festivity of the evening with their kind encouragement and big smiles.”

Troop 40 meetings are held Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church in West Windsor. For information, visit www.cnjctroop40.com or call Hasling at 609-799-6643.
