The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and its arts group, the A-Team, got ‘punked’ with $2,000 gifts each raised through the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market and Capital City Food Truck Battle.

Open Wednesdays to Fridays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, December 23, the pop up market at 141 East State Street is adding to downtown holiday shopping — with vendors offering natural skincare, hand blended teas, cold pressed raw organic juices, holistic scents, artwork, and handcrafted Guatemalan accessories and apparel.
Among the 15 “makers” — or regional businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists — are Tea For All Tea Shoppe, Buttery Sensations, Skoedreams Holistic Inc., Handcrafted by Guatemala, Trenton Community A-Team, and Leon Rainbow, all based in Trenton. Also participating is Arlee’s Raw Blends from Princeton.
The market is a project of the nonprofit Trenton Downtown Association and designed to stimulate business and community in downtown Trenton. The project also serves as an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to experiment with opening their own businesses or expanding existing ones.
The 2016 Trenton Makers Market builds on the success of a model launched during the 2015 holiday season and uses the same vacant shop. The project is supported in part by a grant from the Princeton Area Community Foundation.
