Trenton Thunder and Philadelphia Friends of the Jimmy V Foundation will host the Second Annual Jimmy V Penn-Jersey Home Run Derby to be held following the Thunder vs. New Hampshire game on June 28. The event will take place at Arm & Hammer Park. Participants will be announced ahead of the event.

The event will feature high school baseball players from New Jersey taking on top hitters from Pennsylvania in a home run derby style competition. Points will be awarded for home runs as well as wall balls and outfield hits that reach the wall. Winners will receive scholarships and bragging rights.

Area coaches nominated players for consideration by a board of local baseball officials who then selected the top power hitters to participate.

The Jimmy V Penn-Jersey Home Run Derby is part two of a baseball doubleheader. The Thunder vs. New Hampshire game at 1 p.m. will feature a giveaway of Mini Soft Toss Baseballs to the first 1,000 fans ages 5-15. After the game, before the Home Run Derby, Kids Run the Bases will be presented by TD Bank.

A ticket to the Thunder game is required for entry to the Derby.
