Top Awards for Band

The High School South Symphonic Band earned the highest rating of “gold” at CJMEA, a regional concert band festival. The musicians performed two selections, “Chorale and Allelulia” by Howard Hanson, and “Variations on a Korean Folk Song” by Robert Barnes Chance.

The group also earned the distinction of earning “Best Brass” honors, and a top soloist award to oboist Emily Deamond, freshman, for her oboe solo in “Variations on a Korean Folk Song.”
