West Windsor township officials have announced the senior center would be offering an Income Tax Assistance Program, which provides free tax assistance to seniors in the surrounding area with low to moderate incomes.

The program will be run by trained and certified AARP volunteers at the township’s senior center on Clarksville Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday mornings beginning Tuesday, February 5 until Tuesday, April 8.##M:[more]##

The volunteers will help seniors to prepare their federal and state income tax returns, and are familiar with tax regulations and rebate programs that affect senior residents, a township press release stated. Qualified seniors who want to receive help with their tax returns should bring copies of their 2006 federal and state income tax returns as well as all other necessary information, including property tax bills, medical bills, and charitable contributions.

Appointments can be made by calling the senior center at 609-799-9068.
