The West Windsor/Cranbury-Plainsboro Little League 11U softball team defeated Manchester Little League, 11-2, on July 28 to win the Section 3 title and earn a bid to the state championship in Secaucus.

Kate Kelly pitched a one-hitter, while the offense rallied behind her, highlighted by Kaleigh McCarron’s 4 for 4 performance and Kaitlyn St. Amour, who went 3 for 4. The 11U team is managed by CPLL’s Karen Kelly and coached by WWLL’s Paul St. Amour and CPLL’s Ray Tucholsky. The team will play either Rockaway Boro or Elmer for the state title on Friday, August 8, at 7 p.m.

The West Windsor Little League 10s finished in first place at the West End Late 10s Tournament, defeating Sunnybrae 14-4 in a shortened 3 1/2 inning game. West Windsor competed against fellow District 12 teams in the West End tournament, playing Ewing, Bordentown, Sunnybrae, Millstone and Sunnybrae again for the championship. In the tournament, the team was undefeated with an impressive total run differential of 59-4.

West Windsor’s pitching tandem of Justin Guest and Josh Raeter contributed 48 strikeouts over five games. Bats were also hot throughout the tournament with home runs by Kevin Cao and Guest along with 15 extra base hits contributed by Dylan Elias, Palmer, Raeter, Guest, and Cao. Strong run production came from Ryan Kats, Elias, and Zach Naddelman, who had four RBI in the championship game. Darin D’Cruz, AJ Friedman, and Max Lasky contributed strong defensive play.
