Adam Schuit, a rising junior at High School North, attended the Cornell University Summer College program this summer. Students experienced what it is like to live and learn at a university by taking real university courses, earning college credits, exploring majors and career options. Admission was based on high school records, standardized test scores, application essays, and recommendations.##M:[more]##

Schuit, who competes on the swimming, baseball, and soccer teams at North, is a certified lifeguard, United States Soccer Referee, and a trained Little League umpire. He also volunteers at the St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center and with New Jersey Special Olympics.

An Eagle Scout with Troop 40, (The News, November 18, 2005) he organized, managed, and played for Troop 40’s charity softball team for two years in the David Suarez Scholarship tournament. Suarez, a victim of 9/11 at the World Trade Center, was an Eagle Scout with Troop 40.
