Stubbs Steps Down

West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North coach Art Stubbs has announced he is leaving the Knights.##M:[more]##

Stubbs, who took over for Kevin Kehoe in 2002 and has coached the Knights through six seasons, was the first North coach to bring the team to qualify for the NJSIAA state tournaments, which the team did with a 6-4 record in 2004, WW-P athletic director Marty Flynn said.

One of the biggest highlights for North under his tenure was September’s upset victory over High School South with a score of 21-9, giving the Pirates their only loss of the season.

The Knights themselves had a 3-7 record this year, but went on to defeat Hightstown and Allentown before the season was over.

Stubbs cited wanting to spend more time with his family as his reason for resigning, but he won’t be leaving the district entirely. Stubbs is a physical education teacher at High School North, Flynn said.
