West Windsor resident and Grover Middle School seventh-grader Jacob Gurock shot an 84 to finish third in the 11-12 age division during a Junior Golf America event at the New Jersey National Golf Course in Basking Ridge. He then won the 9-12 age division of the Mercer County Future Champions Tour at the Hopewell Valley Golf Club. In the 13-15 age division, West Windsor resident Ryan Siegler reached the finals.##M:[more]##

Anthony Aloi, 2008 High School South graduate, won the 91st Met Junior Golf Championship at the Rockaway River Country Club in July. His victory earned him an exemption into the 2009 Ike-MGA Stroke Play Championship.

West Windsor resident Matt Davidson finished tied for 8th at the Tarheel Tour’s River Hills Open in Lake Wylie, S.C. in July. He shot 72-66-70.

West Windsor resident Charles Cai finished second in the 12-13 age bracket at the Junior Golf America event at Royce Brook Golf Club in Hillsborough in July. He shot an 81.

Chris Berg, a 2003 North graduate, took fourth place in the Vineman Ironman 70.3 Triathlon on July 20 in California. Despite experiencing mechanical issues with his bike, he finished in 4 hours, 39 minutes, and 5 seconds. As a result, he won one of the two spots in his age group to go on to the 2008 World Ironman 70.3 Championship on November 8 in Clearwater, FL. A graduate of the University of San Diego with a degree in accounting, and a former swim team member at North, Berg will next compete in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on September 14 at Zuma Beach in Malibu, CA. His father, Tony, also participated in the Ironman Triathlon and finished with a time of 6 hours, 25 minutes.

West Windsor residents and sisters Ammu and Nandu Mandalap were the champions in the Women’s B Doubles final at the James E. Cryan Memorial Tournament at Mercer County Park earlier this month. They had a 6-4, 6-4 win.
