The WW-P school district is in the process of conducting a review of its Special Education programs, and is currently inviting parents of students in the district’s special education programs to participate in focus group meetings as part of the process.

The district has brought in Dr. Michele Kamens, an external program reviewer, to gather feedback and perspectives related to the program and its services. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 1, at the Grover Middle School cafeteria from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for parents of out-of-district students.

All parents of special education students will be invited to the following focus group meeting on Thursday, March 3, in High School North’s theater from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The district held prior meetings for parents of middle and high school, as well as elementary students in the special education program earlier this month.

Participants will be asked various questions and contribute to a group discussion related to processes, program offerings, and structures. All information shared will be considered in the program review and will be kept confidential.
