Seven File To Run In School Elections

It will be a contested race for the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional school board this spring, as seven candidates have filed to run for three open seats on the board.

Incumbents Hemant Marathe, Robert Johnson, and Ellen Walsh have filed petitions to run. Marathe, of Clarendon Court, and Johnson, of Van Wyck Drive, will face challengers Rakesh Kak, of Le Parc Court; Vijay Kanchi, of Greylynne Drive; and Scott Powell, of Cambridge Way in West Windsor, where there are two open seats.

In Plainsboro, Ellen Walsh, of Petty Road will face challenger Harshad Tanna, of Krebs Road, for one available seat.

The deadline to file for candidacy was March 1. The school board elections will take place Tuesday, April 20.
