Two area schools received cash awards at the 2009 U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl at the National Building Museum in Washington on Monday, May 4. High School North, one of the top eight high school teams in the country, received $1,”000. Grover Middle School, placed seventh in the middle school competition and received $500.##M:[more]##

High School North team members include David Goldfinger, Neeraj Venkatesan, Rohan Bansal, Rohit Reddy, and Krishna Doppalapudi. Their coach is teacher James Looney.

Grover Middle School team members include Sansriti Tripathi, Eli Wang, Alexander Clifton, Rishabh Singh, and Ikshita Sing. “This was a great achievement for these students, especially as this was the first time we competed in this competition,” says their advisor Rae McKenna.
