West Windsor officials applied for the grant, Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities, because of the need to expand recreational programs for its disabled residents, especially children and young adults. Mayor Hsueh said officials have been pushing for grants in this area. “We have been successful in creating more recreational opportunities for the whole community,” he said. “But we don’t want to ignore those who need special attention.”

The grant will allow the township to offer such programs as adapted aquatics, the therapeutic equestrian program, the adapted multi-sports clinic, adapted martial arts, and social events. For information call the recreation office at 609-799-6141 or visit www.wwparks-recreation.com.
