Robbinsville resident Regina Arcuri threw out the first pitch at a Trenton Thunder game earlier this month to celebrate the team’s First Responders Night.

Arcuri, a longtime advocate for first responders in her hometown of Robbinsville, threw out the first pitch on on Saturday, Sept. 1. She was named a 2018 Mercer County Woman of Achievement this spring for her community service.

“I was so pleased to join the Trenton Thunder in honoring the men and women on the front lines of our health and safety,” Arcuri said. “It was great to see so many local police officers, firefighters and EMTs enjoying themselves at the game.”

She also served as an honorary commander for Air Force and Navy operations at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for five years, beginning October 2012. She was appointed to the military installation’s honorary commander emeritus program October 2017, allowing her to continue her role as a community ambassador indefinitely.

Arcuri said she enjoyed meeting the players — including Brandon Wagner of Hopewell — team managers and front office employees, as well as learning more about the AA professional baseball team’s operation.
