The Robbinsville High School Pet Rescue Club held a school-wide Pet Supply Drive at the end of the school year.

The club collected approximately 300 pounds of donations for the Pet Rescue of Mercer, an all volunteer, not-for-profit animal rescue group based in Mercer County, from May 24 to June 7. The Pet Rescue of Mercer rescues neglected, abused, and abandoned animals from local shelters by finding quality homes for them.

The RHS Pet Rescue Club was founded this past spring by Robbinsville High students Morgan Serra (junior), Jordyn David (junior), Jennifer Hodsdon (junior), Samantha DeMartino (sophomore), and James Cavanaugh-Gialloreto (sophomore) who make up the club’s executive board.

The president and vice president of the RHS Pet Rescue Club, Morgan Serra and Jordyn David respectively, have been supporting PRM through monetary donations ever since they were in sixth grade by having bake sales and lemonade stands each summer at the free summer concerts at the gazebo.

This summer, the executive board members will be continuing this tradition by having a bake sale/lemonade stand at each of Robbinsville Township’s free summer concerts at the gazebo at Town Center Lake. The music starts at 7 p.m. and the concert dates are as follows: July 10, July 17, July 24, July 31, and August 14. All of the money raised through the bake sales will be donated to the Pet Rescue of Mercer.
