The Princeton Festival’s annual gala is set to celebrate 10 years of music and song.

The gala, titled Rise Up Singin’, is scheduled for April 5 at Greenacres Country Club in Lawrenceville. Proceeds are set to benefit the festival’s 2014 season.

Attendees will step into the warmth and color of old Charleston, S.C., the setting of this year’s festival centerpiece Porgy and Bess.

Festivities begin with piano music by Doug Miller of the Shikantaza group accompanying the cocktail hour. The Courtney Colletti Band is set to provide dinner and dance music.

Gala honoree, Met soprano Leona Mitchell, plans to sing during the gala. Mitchell’s portrayal of Bess won a Grammy Award for Opera Performance.

Ticket prices range from $250 to $1,000.

The theme of the Princeton Festival’s 2014 season is The New World: Voices of the Americas. The 10th season includes a performance by Concordia Chamber Players, jazz by the Martin Wind Quartet, Cuban music by Jose Conde y ola Fresca, a choral conducting master class and choral concert led by Dr. Jan Harrington, a youth choral workshop, a piano recital by Evan Wong, a cappella vocal jazz by ‘Round Midnight, and puppet theater.

The season is scheduled to run June 7 to 29.
