Florence E. Cohen of West Windsor, a Prudential Financial retiree, received a Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants Award of $1,”000 for Project Freedom. Cohen, who contributed more than 360 hours in 2006 to Project Freedom, served on the board of directors and as chairman of the personnel committee. She also solicited local businesses for donations that aided in fundraising events including the annual dinner dance and holiday luncheons. In addition, Cohen spoke with various politicians about the waitlist backlog for state handicapped housing.

Project Freedom, an organization that provides housing and support services for the disabled, advocates for tenants and provides training classes and social support.
