Princeton Summer Theater to return in June

Princeton Summer Theater is set to return to Hamilton-Murray Theater in June.

PST produces four mainstage shows, a children’s play and several children’s workshops over eight weeks annually in the Hamilton Murray Theater on Princeton University’s campus.

The 2013 season is set to begin with the musical, She Loves Me, Directed by Sarah-Ashley Bischoff with book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Performances are set to run from June 20 to 30.

Then Beth Henley’s Mississippi family tragic-comedy, Crimes of the Heart, takes the stage July 4 through 14. It is directed by 2012 PST artistic director Daniel Rattner.

Patrick Barlow’s Hitchcock spoof, The 39 Steps, directed by Jeff Kuperman is scheduled for July 18 through 28.

The season closes with Donald Margulies’s recently Tony-nominated Iraq war story, Time Stands Still, from August 1 through 11. It is directed by 2013 artistic director Emma Watt.

Mainstage performances are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday of each week.

Tickets are $25 for general admission and $20 for students.

PST is set host Young Artist’s Workshops for kids ages six to 12 on Friday afternoons.

This year’s annual children’s show is How Thumbelina Found her Wings, by Annika Bennett. Performances are 11 a.m. July 4 through 6, 11 through 13, 25 through 27, August 1 through 3 and 8 through 10.

Tickets are $9 and free for children under three. Each performance is followed by an autograph session.
