Princeton Public Library is accepting applications from authors interested in participating in an Author Fair as part of the library’s seventh annual Local Author Day on October 24, 2015. Open to authors from Central New Jersey and Bucks County, Pa., with preference given to those who reside within 20 miles of Princeton Public Library, the Author Fair takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. as the highlight of Local Author Day.

The event is an opportunity for authors to gain exposure while showcasing their work in the highly regarded setting of Princeton Public Library. While the day’s emphasis is on marketing and networking, authors are also given space to display, sign and sell their books during the Author Fair.

Space is available for 36 authors with priority given to writers of adult fiction or non-fiction. Writers in other genres, or for other age groups, are also welcome to apply. Four featured authors will be selected and given a 7-8 minute time slot to read from their work during the fair. Ten additional authors will be chosen by lottery to read for 5-6 minutes.

Authors supply their own books and keep all proceeds from sales during the fair. Past participants must have a new or recently published book.

In addition to the Author Fair, Local Author Day features workshops for writers. The workshops are open to the public and begin at 10 a.m. Details are to be announced.

Authors who wish to apply for the Author Fair will find an application online at bit.ly/ppl2015LAD. Applications must be submitted by September 1. Notification of acceptance will be made by September 15.
