The Princeton Parklet has returned to its roots. The mini-park the size of three parking spaces has been installed in front of Small World Coffee’s Witherspoon Street cafe, the same place where the first Princeton Parklet was installed in 2015.
In the interim, the parklet moved around the block, where a reimagined, interactive “Energy Playground” invited passersby to sit and tinker in front of Jazams toy store. The new parklet uses the same structure as the 2017 parklet designed by architect James Hobart Weiss, but the interior has been simplified to promote relaxation. New features also include a green roof to offer a lesson in environmentalism in an urban setting.
