Princeton food pantry extends Tuesday night hours

The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County recently added evening hours to the Tuesday food pantry schedule of its downtown Princeton location.

The organization expanded to evening hours to accommodate individuals and families who work during regular business hours.

Expanded Tuesday hours are from 1:30 to 7 p.m. The pantry is also open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Homelessness prevention services in the Princeton location are provided Monday through Thursday from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

The Crisis Ministry’s Princeton pantry served 234 low-income households in July 2013. Several elderly low-income Princeton residents receive food that is delivered to their homes.

The food pantry is located at at 61 Nassau St., in the lower level of Nassau Presbyterian Church.

The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 by Nassau Presbyterian Church and Trinity Church as a grassroots response to the recession of the time. The organization provides assistance to some 5,000 Mercer County households each year through initiatives that address food insecurity and nutrition education; housing stability and homelessness prevention; and job training and employment stability.
