The Princeton Festival has been named Favorite Opera Company in the annual jerseyarts.com People’s Choice Awards.

Now entering its 10th season, the festival has centered its multi- performing arts program each year in June with productions of operas, from La Boheme to Handel’s Ariodante. Last summer the festival produced Wagner’s The Fying Dutchman.

Porgy and Bess will cap the company’s celebration of its 10th anniversary year this June, accompanied with the usual wide variety of other outstanding events, including jazz, chamber music, a cappella jazz, world music, and piano.

The Princeton Festival’s 2014 season is scheduled for June 7 to 28.

In addition, two other Princeton art organizations won awards. The Arts Council of Princeton won Favorite Art Gallery and Westminster Choir won Favorite Choral Group.
