Princeton Community Works Conference for non-profit professionals and volunteers is scheduled for Jan. 26.

To encourage community members and non-profit professionals and volunteers to “listen to their hearts and play a part” in solving some of society’s ills, Princeton Community Works will once again host its annual conference.

Now in its 16th year, the conference is planned and produced by a dedicated committee of involved community members. It typically attracts more 400 representatives from about 200 area nonprofit organizations each year.

The conference is scheduled for 5 to 9:15 p.m. Jan. 26 at Princeton University’s Frist Campus Center. It features a surprise keynote address and the choice of 2 one-hour workshops focused on helping non-profit boards, staff and volunteers work together more effectively.

Workshops include “Innovation on a Shoestring Budget,” “‘Hot’ Legal Issues Facing ‘Cool’ Non-Profits,” “Getting the Board on Board for Fundraising,” “Elements of Strong Financial Oversight,” “A Grant Writing Toolbox,” “Nuts and Bolts of Strategic Planning,” “The 3Rs of Volunteer Management,” “Emerging Trends in Fundraising,” “Social Media Strategies” and “Leverage your Organization with Coalitions.”

The cost for attendance is $35, which includes a boxed supper.
