West Windsor Township has two upcoming events to recognize the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2011. On Thursday, September 1, a selection of photographs from Danny Sze’s “Images of Courage” will open in the Municipal Township building lobby. Sze, a professional photographer and former West Windsor resident, donated the photos to the town.

The exhibit is curated by the West Windsor Township Human Relations Council. Barbara Cox, an artist, teacher, and resident of West Windsor, provided the display towers for the photos and technical assistance. The exhibit is on view through September 30, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The annual ceremony commemorating the tragedy will be held on Sunday, September 11, at 6 p.m. at the Memorial Twin Ponds at Ronald Rogers Arboretum. A steel beam from Ground Zero is included in the memorial. The service includes remarks from various faith communities, and musical performances from West Windsor township youth and other musicians. The service will occur rain or shine.

“In recognition of the tenth anniversary of the September 11th tragedy, we honor those who have perished, as well as the fallen heroes involved in the rescue and recovery effort,” said West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh. “We should use the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy to make a commitment to help build the ‘Beloved Community’ in West Windsor that embraces love and tolerance and not hate and discrimination.”
