High School North’s Post Prom party planners are hoping that laughs for adults this Friday, April 29, translate into an equally fun time for seniors at the June 3 Post Prom event.

For the fourth year West Windsor’s own Helene Angley, right, will emcee “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Prom,” a comedy show to benefit Post Prom, at the West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The evening, for ages 18 and over, costs $35, which includes food. BYOB.

Among the evening’s performers will be Chris Coccia, a comedian who has appeared on Comedy Central, the Game Show Network, and XM Radio.

Angely, a comedian herself, performed at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City for three years and now hosts a monthly comedy night at Grovers Mill Coffee House in the Southfield Shopping Center. Angley’s two children are both graduates of High School North.

The Post Prom is designed to offer seniors a safe, drug and alcohol-free place to continue their celebration after prom. The event, which has a surprise theme each year, requires a year-round volunteer planning and fundraising effort.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Prom, West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company, 153 South Mill Road, Princeton Junction. Friday, April 29, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Ages 18+. $35. www.wwpn-postprom.org.
