The West Windsor Zoning Board has approved a variance that would permit the construction of a 64-bed Alzheimer’s and dementia memory care facility at 861 Alexander Road, which for many years was the home of the Princeton Polychrome Press.

Artis Senior Living, the contract purchaser of the 3.37-acre site located near the New South parking lot on Alexander, requested the variance for a proposed 37,300 square foot structure at the board’s March 27 meeting.

Possible environmental issues concerning the property may still have to be addressed by the seller of the property. A fully engineered site plan application is the next step in the approval process.
