The Plainsboro police department received a $1,”000 grant from the state Department of Community Affairs to train officers in handling domestic-violence situations.##M:[more]## The funds will be used to purchase a video camera and microphone with a digital recorder to record interviews of those arrested on domestic-violence charges. These recordings will the be used in officer training.

According to Elizabeth Bondurant, officers need to effectively interview suspects in the midst of an emotional scene in order to effectively collect evidence. Observing interviews is the best way to learn those skills.
