First grade students at Hawk School raised $2,014 for Meals on Wheels, a nonprofit organization that provides home-delivered hot meals on a daily basis to those unable to leave their homes. The money will be used to prepare 403 meals for local families. The students also collected canned goods for HomeFront.

Students have been learning about the various chores that the pilgrim boys and girls did many years ago to help out their families. Each of the classes discussed how different life is today compared to years ago. The money raised was a result of performing a task or a chore during a two-week period.

First grade teachers include Amanda Barclay, Linda Bugher, Christy Byrnes, Kerry Kocses, Christine Robinson, Lisa Rizziello, Krystal Russo, Marla Savage, Tae Seo, Rebecca Totaro, and Julie Yi.
