Pennington Players open auditions for fall production of Violet

The Pennington Players are pleased to announce open auditions for a fall 2015 production of the musical Violet, by Brian Crawley and Jeanine Tesori.

Preliminary auditions will be held 7 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m .on Saturday, August 22. Callbacks, as required, are tentatively scheduled for August 26 and/or 29. Auditions and callbacks will be held in the Mercer County Community College Communications building, adjacent to Kelsey Theatre, located at 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor.

Auditioners are asked to prepare one complete song from musical theatre, and to bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. No dancing will be required at the initial audition.

Violet will be produced by the Pennington Players (producer Jennifer Gregg), with direction by Frank Ferrara, musical direction by Shannon Ferrara and Michael Gilch, choreography by Nicole Farina-Machin, and stage management by Vianna Fagel. Rehearsals are expected to begin in early September, and run 3-4 times per week until the show’s opening at the beginning of November.

The show will be performed at Kelsey Theatre, on campus at Mercer County Community College November 6 through 8 and 13 through 15 (Friday and Saturday night performances at 8 p.m.; Sunday afternoon performances at 2 p.m.).
