Ethan Hawke, who was raised in West Windsor, is in a revival of David Rabe’s “Hurlyburly,” a play about drugs and sex in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s. The production, a transfer from the Acorn Theater, is the premiere production at the new 37 Arts complex (450 West 37th Street). Hawke plays the role of Eddie.

Hawke attended West Windsor-Plainsboro High School and graduated from the Hun School. A student with the McCarter Education Department, his first professional stage production was on the McCarter Theater stage.

He also performed with the Malaparte Theater Company, where he was also artistic director. His film credits include Assault on Precinct 13, Before Sunset, Training Day, Before Sunrise, Hamlet, Gattaca, Reality Bites, Alive, Dead Poets Society, and the upcoming Lord of War.
