National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 3, neighborhoods throughout Plainsboro Township are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for National Night Out, an annual event designed to heighten crime and drug abuse prevention awareness. From 7 to 10 p.m. residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outdoors with neighbors and police.

Plainsboro Township Police Department is hosting a kick-off rally for National Night Out 2004 on Monday, August 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Morris Davison Park on Plainsboro Road. In addition to prizes, contests and giveaways, there will be DJ music, and free sodas. Information about crime prevention and the nationwide event will also be available.

National Night Out generates support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and dedicated to being crime and violence free.
