NAACP set to host event about ACA and open enrollment

The NAACP New Jersey State Conference is set to host an event designed to educate individuals about the Affordable Care Act and the Health Insurance Marketplace on March 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Carver Center.

The NAACP will be joined by the New Jersey Black Issues Convention, Shiloh Community Development Corporation, Trenton Historic Development Collaborative and the NJ State Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs.

Those attending will have the opportunity enroll at that time.

Open enrollment will close on March 31, 2014. Individuals who do not have coverage by this date may not be offered coverage under the Health Insurance Marketplace until the next open enrollment period which is proposed to open November 15.

To enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace, attendees will be required to present their birth certificate or U.S. Passport, a Photo ID (driver’s license, State identification card, military identification card or school identification card), social security number, proof of income (pay stub, an income tax return or letter from the Social Security Administration) and employer insurance information (if applicable).

Carver Center is located at 40 Fowler Street, Trenton.
