American Heart: A Benefit for Syrian Child Refugees, a free concert, will promote UNICEF’s #ChildrenofSyria campaign through live music, food and activities for kids on Saturday, June 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Barclay Square at Princeton Forrestal Clubhouse, 1900 Barclay Boulevard.

There will be live classical and jazz music and a buffet, and special guest Philip Orr will play jazz piano. The benefit is BYOB, and refreshments will be served on the clubhouse’s outdoor patio. Admission is free, but donations will be collected at the door for UNICEF’s #ChildrenofSyria campaign.

The event will be hosted by A Moment for Music, a production company founded by area opera singer Jessica Renfro and pianist Lynda Saponara. The group’s goal is to promote good causes through music and benefits, and the mission of the American Heart benefit is to bring relief to the children of Syria and give them a better future.

Jessica Renfro, founder of A Moment for Music and internationally performing classical singer is also a cantor at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville. She had previously been a professional church soloist for 14 years.

Pianist Lynda Saponara has a piano and vocal coaching studio in Princeton, and has performed internationally with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. She has taught at the College of New Jersey, Mason Gross School of the Arts, New Jersey City University and Wagner College.
