High School North’s Fed Challenge Team won the 2014 Fed Challenge, an economics competition organized by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Team members include seniors Ben Edelman, Vishan Nigam, and Rohan Agrawal; Shannon Sheu, a junior; and Anjali Agrawal and Rochelle Li, both freshmen. The team advisor is Morton Levine.

During the competition the team presented to Federal Reserve economists, analyzed the state of the nation’s economy, recommended monetary policy for the Federal Reserve, and provided detailed answers to advanced economics questions posed by judges.

As the first place winners, the students will meet and have lunch with William C. Dudley, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and vice-chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, in addition to other top Federal Reserve officials.
